Vague hints (example, the area where you use Raymans hair to cut a rope before you're thrown in the river you actually aren't given any hint how to cut the rope, you actually have to go slowly in an arcing position, rapidly swinging around or trying to stay in place doesn't work fast enough.)ġ0. The purple lums letting you swing faster than the screen keeping up was a terrible idea.ĩ. Random rule change sin the same stage (one enemy will take two hits to defeat, then the same enemy will laugh like 4 of your shots off (literally) before you can damage him and then having another of the same enemy do the opposite.Ĩ. Tall enemies have odd hit boxes making your fist miss despite clearly being over their head.ħ. Off-screen enemies attacking you just as they come into view while rising a narrow platform.Ħ. The collision detection for the grab is detrimental as it causes you to fall into pits even if Rayman is thrown against the platform, really bad for the sliding platforms and the trumpet guys in band land.ĥ. The difficulty curve from finishing the starting forest to two stages into band land may be the biggest in gaming.Ĥ. After the first stage in each "zone" you are stuck in that zone until it's done meaning that if you are stuck in a part with little to no orbs and no other way to get extra lives, and maybe there are no power ups you just have to keep trying.Ģ. You can only get an extra life once from Wixard stages.Ģ.
#Rayman ps1 pro
Rayman has a mess of problems that you will always run into even if you are a pro when playing legitimately that makes this game hard as heck:ġ. Well it turns out you need to rescue all the electoons in every stage to unlock it, and with most if not all "wizards" (the bonus stages that give extra lives" gone and no way to gain continues (despite the continue counter having two digits) I was done. I beat the last stage of art world and had beaten every normal stage in the game (took the left side of band land by accident thinking it would lead somewhere but turns out that will become a factor later) and noticed no trail appeared leading to the very visible last stage showing an Icon of Mr.Dark. Recently I did something I didn't think I could do and almost didn't with 1 life, zero continues, and one "P" power giving me 5 hits. Rayman 1 may possibly be a game that might actually be "near" impossible to actually beat, this games difficulty is insane and there's so many issues that will always occur no matter how many times you "practice". (Not including the Jag or GBA ver which many haven't played anyway)
